Not only is the July installment of Hot 97’s “Who’s Next Series” the official birthday bash for host Peter Rosenberg but also a big summer showcase of big up and coming talent. “Who’s Next” already were the first to break Asher Roth and Drake in the New York scene and they’ll do it again on 07.23.09 at S.O.B.’s when they welcome in Mike Posner and Big Sean. Posner, a Michigan native and currently a student at Duke has been making a name for himself with his band The Brain Trust which he fronts as well as mixtapes that have been getting good feedback from numerous outlets. A Matter of Time was released in February and is available for a free download on iTunes. ‘Drug Dealer Girl’ off the mixtape sounds like it could be the breakout single. Big Sean, another Michigan kid, coheadlines the showcase with Posner and first started getting attention in 2007 when he signed with G.O.O.D. Music. Tickets for the night are $12 in advance, grab em before it sells out.
