Discovering Brooklyn’s Torae during the Fat Beats CMJ showcase was one of the best parts of that show for me. 

Daily Conversation, the new album from Torae comes out 01.08.08 with beats from some of the top producers including DJ Premier, Khrysis, Marco Polo, 9th Wonder, and Black Milk.  To celebrate the release, Torae’s official release party will take place 01.11.08 in the Tap Room of Knitting Factory.  Joining him will be fellow Brooklynite and friend Skyzoo (who is also featured on the album), Stimuli & Chaundon, Vega Benetton, and DJ Eclipse.  Tickets are $15; show starts at 9:00 PM.
