You might remember the Voodoo Funk party which started as a Thursday night residency at Santos Party House last year. For 2009 they’ve found a new home in Brooklyn as the party will return starting tonight (03.14.09) at Union Pool in Williamsburg. To kick it off proper who is better fitting than The Budos Band as their afrosoul sound clicks perfectly with the Voodoo Funk brand. Budos will take the stage at 9:00 PM follow by a DJ set with “the funkiest vinyl ever pressed south of the Sahara desert” with Voodoo Funk. Cover is $10 at the door, 21+.

Following tonight’s show they will be bringing it back to Union Pool every second Saturday of the month. Mandingo Ambassadors are already confirmed for the next party on 04.11.09.
