Lets start by saying HOLY SHIT. This is the kind of show New York has been lacking for a minute, an genre bending, allstar collaboration with some of the most talented musicians in the industry. Maybe George Clinton realized he was doing one too many P-Funk shows in New York so he decided to bring in his ‘Gangters of Love’ for this one of a kind show. The group is composed of R&B legend El DeBarge, System Of A Down’s bassist Shavo Odadjian, Wu-Tang mastermind RZA, gospel singer Kim Burrell and of course George Clinton. Who knows what to make of this but you will definitely need a $35 ticket and an ounce of weed. The show takes place at B.B. King Blues Club on 10.23.08 and might be part of the CMJ series.
