BRC 25th Anniversary Celebration Featuring the Music of Curtis Mayfield
1.3.2010To celebrate 25 years of supporting recording and performance opportunities for black musicians, the Black Rock Coalition will host a weekend of free shows at Brooklyn Academy of
Music as part of the ‘BAMcafé Live’ series. The Black Rock Coalition will pay tribute to one of the most talented and influential activist, Curtis Mayfield.
“In conjunction with BAM’s celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Black Rock Coalition performs inspirational songs by the great Curtis Mayfield, whose music chronicles the highs and lows of African American experience, including the revolutionary spirit of the Civil Rights Movement.”
