As you probably know by now, a true legend was lost on September 19th when Grandmaster Roc Raida passed away.  Born and raised in New York City, Roc Raida made a name as one of the best turntablists with his DJ work and production and as a founding member of The X-Ecutioners.  By the mid 90’s everyone knew his name after being declared the 1995 DMC World DJ Champion. Over the last few years, Roc Raida regularly was spinning at New York clubs and parks while also hosting the Gong Battles which went down at Knitting Factory.

In his memory, ‘A Celebration for Roc Raida’ will be go down at B.B. King Blues Club on 10.22.09 where friends and family of Roc will gather for the night.  Busta Rhymes, D.I.T.C., Sadat-X, Rahzel & Styles P will all perform and are joined by an all-star lineup of DJs including DJ Green Lantern, The X-Ecutioners, DJ JS-1, DJ A Trak, and DJ Craze.  Tickets are $25 in advance.
