Introducing Y-Love & New York Tour Dates

3.1.2008

With the Beastie Boys, Necro, Scott Storch, and Hadag Nachash, Jews doing hip-hop is nothing all that new. However, a Jewish rapper with a strong focus on his religion just Babylon covermight be. Don’t get it confused though, Y-Love isn’t hear to preach religion all day. The Brooklyn emcee comes at it from his own direction, mixing his lyrics with catchy electro-style beats from his producer DJ Jake Break. Listen to his MySpace and stream ‘My Garden’ and you’ll hear what’s up; his flow sounds like a crossblend of LMNO from The Visionaries mixed with Del the Funky Homosapian. Execs have already picked up on the Hasidic hip-hopper as his debut album This is Babylon is due out in April on Modular Moods via Universal. Starting in late March Y-Love will have a string of New York performances. On 03.23.08 he’ll be at Joe’s Pub for the Heeb Storytelling show with comedian Seth Herzog. On 03.27.08 he appears at the Jewish Museum and then two days later on 03.29.08 Y-Love will be celebrating with his official NYC release party at 205 Club. Tickets for the Joe’s Pub performance are $15 with a 7:00 PM start.
