Talib Kweli NYE In NYC & Spinning a DJ Set with John Forte in Brooklyn
12.24.2009
Didn’t make it to the Blacksmith Christmas party last night? You still have one more chance to catch Talib Kweli live this year. Promotion team Blue Night Events is throwing their New Years Eve celebration this year at Metropolitan Pavilion which will feature DJs and a live set from Talib. Ticket packages for the evening start at $135 and they’re also throwing a late night after hours party at Love.
If you already have plans for NYE or don’t have the budget for the night, check out the more affordable package on 01.03.10 when Talib Kweli DJs and hosts another evening at Brooklyn Bowl presented by Talibra. He returns to the Bowl, this time with special guests Graph Nobel and fellow Brooklyn native John Forte (pictured above).
After serving a good part of the decade behind bars, President George W. Bush pardoned Forte before leaving office and Forte has been back at work since. He spent most of 2008 recording his first album in more than seven years and Stylefree the EP was released this past summer. The former Fugees producer and solo artist has used the last year two reintroduce fans to his music and has performed a number of shows around the city including a Brooklyn performance in July at the annual Afropunk Festival Block Party (pictured above). Tickets to his Brooklyn Bowl show with Talib Kweli are just $10 in advance, 21+.
