Last Friday (08.01.08), sneakerheads on a ?uest braved the heat for their shot at a Wonkaesque golden ticket. ALife Rivington Club hosted a meet and greet for the faithful (some camped 2 nights to hold their spot in line) who patiently waited for the release of Roots’ drummer ?uestlove’s signature Nike Air Force Ones. The golden ticket winners got a special gold toe version of the kicks (limited to 36 pairs, 12 in each city) along with the opportunity to chill with the legendary Roots crew backstage at a future show. ?uesto was not only cool enough to sign each shoebox and meet each purchaser, he also spun a dope ‘name that sample’ in the ALife backyard DJ set afterwards.
