Ghostface Killah’s Fall Release & November Show

8.23.2009

R&B has always been an essential part of Ghostface Killah’s music and some of his most classic records feature him simply rhyming or talking over original cuts like The onlybuilt2Delfonic’s ‘La La Means I Love You’ and ‘Not On the Outside’ by The Moments.  The Wizard of Poetry, the new Ghostface record is being described as “an R&B-influenced rap album.”  Don’t expect throwbacks though as they are referring to newer artists like John Legend, Raheem DeVaughn, and Musiq (think a whole album of tracks like ‘Back Like That’).  Besides his solo album Wu fans can get ready for Only Built for Cuban Linx II from Raekwon which finally drops next Tuesday.  Rae and Ghost are pictured on the cover in a pose almost identical to the original ‘95 LP reading “guest starring Tony Starks.”

In addition to his new fall releases Ghostface Killah also performs at B.B. King Blues Club on 11.11.09.  Tickets are $26.

If this show is anything like Rae’s SOB album release party (which I heard here first) it should be off the meat hook!
