I didn’t mention it in this week’s releases but today Blue Note Records also released Droppin’ Science: The Greatest Samples From the Blue Note Lab. The album contains 10 tracks that have been sampled in some of the biggest hiphop songs of all time, all artists that were on the Blue Note label. Besides some of the most sampled music, Science also contains liner notes from ?uestlove with album art from Jeff Jank of Stones Throw Records. In celebration of the release, Ali Shaheed Muhammad will be spinning classic beats from the album tonight (02.12.08) at the SoHo Apple store at 8:00 PM.
