Daniel Merriweather US Release & Gramercy Show
12.23.2009Daniel Merriweather is no stranger to the New York club scene. A regular at parties with his producer Mark Ronson (pictured together below) and Allido related events, Merriweather’s past live performance were generally him performing his singles or sharing the bill with other artists. The Australian singer’s first major U.S. release drops in January through J Records & Allido and to support the record he’ll take the stage headlining his own evening at Gramercy Theatre on 01.26.10. Love & War dropped this past summer in the U.K. debuting at #2 on the charts with the single ‘Change.’ The album is thorough from start to end with ‘Impossible’ really standing out as the best cut. The track allows Merriweather to show off just how powerful his voice can be over signature Ronson production sprinkled with Dap-King guitars and percussion. Hopefully they go with this as the first single on the U.S. release next month. After major success stateside with imports like Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, and Adele we’ll see if Mark Ronson’s formula works when he brings over his first male vocalist production. Tickets for his Gramery show are available now for $20, expect more additions to the bill soon.
